Birthed into Life

In the year of 1953 on the 20th day of September in Columbus, Ohio, a son was born to the late District Elder Isaac Parker and Sister Mary Parker; this son would carry on the preaching legacy of their generation.

Ordained Minister

Being destined by God, Leon Parker was baptized at the age of five and at the age of twenty he was called to the ministry. He preached his first sermon the very night he received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Surely the prayers of his father and mother did not go unanswered.

In 1975, Minister Leon Parker moved to Columbus, Ohio to attend Aenon Bible College and to flee the hand of those who tried to pull him away from his walk with Christ. The work of the Lord had just begun, he then moved to Akron, Ohio to work up under his uncle, Suffragan Bishop David Parker. There, he worked faithfully at the Zion Apostolic Faith Church as a young minister, member of the choir, Day Care bus driver and as youth president.

On January 21, 1978, Minister Leon Parker after marrying Sister Charlotte M. Green of Akron, Ohio they were called by God to join the building of the ministry in Dallas, Texas where his mother was carrying on the work of her late husband. Under the direction of God, Pastor Mary Parker appointed him to assistant pastor in 1982. In 1983, Sister Charlotte Parker was called to the ministry.

In 1984, Minister Leon Parker’s ministry began to move to a higher level; Pastor Mary Parker turned the church leadership over to her son. With a vision of pastoring, the Lord blessed Elder Leon Parker to add two churches to his ministry; Zion Temple of Tyler, Texas in 1992 and Mount Calvary of Corsicana, Texas in 1999. During this period, he was elevated from Elder to District Elder. In July 2002, Zion purchased its present-day home, 3940 Blue Ridge Boulevard; Dallas, Texas 75233 and our pastor was elevated to Suffragan Bishop. Our pastor has now been elevated from Suffragan Bishop to Bishop- Elect. He is the Bishop- Elect over Tamaulipas Mexico Diocese of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc..  He has served in the capacity of the chaplain of the Texas State Council, President of the Texas State Council Young People’s Auxiliary, President of Texas State Council Men’s Ministry, Assistant Treasurer, and the Council Chairman of the Texas State Council and the Assistant Treasurer of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc..
